Political History
Ashraf Jabbar Qureshi embarked on his political journey at the age of 16, marked by his initial arrest during a protest. He affiliated himself with Jamaat E Islami, establishing the youth force Pasban-e-Pakistan. However, ideological differences led him to part ways with Pasban-e-Pakistan in 1993. Ashraf Qureshi was one of the very first people to advise Imran Khan to form a political party, which is called PTI today. He was the first Raabta Incharge for Sindh from PTI and is one of the founders of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf. Within the party, he held various positions, including President Sindh and President Karachi. Co-founding Imran Tiger Force, his impactful speeches, ground-level efforts, and organizational contributions to PTI earned him a massive following. Despite differences within his party, he remained unwavering in his values. Contesting elections in different Karachi areas, Ashraf Jabbar Qureshi ran for NA-253 in the 2013 general elections and managed to be the runner-up despite heavy rigging. In 2018, he gave his seat, NA-243, to Imran Khan to contest, and he contested from NA-253, which was considered a difficult seat to win. Known for his unyielding attitude, Ashraf Jabbar Qureshi exposes incompetence within his party and advocates for the betterment of Karachi.
